Edward's Log
Privacy and data use
This page explains what Edward's Log stores, which services process it, and what choices you have. It is written as a plain-language summary and does not replace a formal privacy notice or legal advice.
What we store
When you create an account, Auth0 handles your sign-in details and Edward's Log stores an account identifier so your account can work. The app may also store the pet profiles, seizure events, medications, feedings, activities, notes, images, and other records that you choose to enter.
We use this information to provide the logging, charts, sharing, study, and analysis features you request. We do not use it for advertising, and the app does not currently use user-tracking analytics.
Cookies and similar technologies
The app uses necessary Auth0 session cookies to keep you signed in and protect account access. These cookies are required for authenticated features. We do not currently set advertising or analytics cookies.
If optional analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies are added later, they will be kept off until you give consent and you will be able to withdraw that consent.
Studies and data exports
If you join a study, the study administrator may be able to view the study data that you submit and request an export for the study. Study exports are generated for the study's authorized administrators; joining a study should be treated as permission to share the submitted data with that study team.
Before joining a study, review its consent materials for the study's purpose, retention period, recipients, and withdrawal process. Those study-specific materials control how the study uses the data in addition to this app-level notice.
Optional AI analysis
AI analysis is optional and can be enabled for a pet. When requested, relevant pet records are sent from Edward's Log's server to its processing infrastructure and then to OpenAI to produce pattern-oriented results. The analysis is intended to help organize observations, not to diagnose a condition or recommend treatment.
We configure the OpenAI service for API use and do not intend for submitted data to be used to train general OpenAI models. That setting is not an absolute promise that no authorized service provider personnel or infrastructure could ever access data, so do not submit information you are not comfortable processing through the configured providers. We will document the exact provider terms, retention settings, and any changes before treating this summary as a complete legal privacy notice.
AI results are informational only. Always discuss seizure or medication concerns with a qualified veterinarian.
Your choices and questions
You choose what to enter, whether to enable AI analysis, and whether to participate in a study. Do not use a public share link for information you do not want its recipient to see. For account, data-access, deletion, or privacy questions, contact the app operator through the project's support channel.
